What is it?
Nitrogen is a key component if the bodies of living organisms, nitrogen atoms are found in all proteins and DNA. Nitrogen exists in the atmosphere as N2 gas. In Nitrogen fixations bacteria convert N2 into ammonia, a form of nitrogen usable by plants. When animals eat the plants, they acquire usable nitrogen compounds.
Steps to the nitrogen cycle:
1.Nitrogen fixation(N2 to NH3/NH4+ or NO3)
2.Nitrification(NH3 to NO3)
3.Assimilation(incorporation of NH3 and NO3 into biological tissues)
4.Ammonification (organic nitrogen compounds to NH3)
5. Denitrification(No3 to N2)
Reflection:
Bacteria transforms nitrogen gas into a usable form for plants called ammonia and nitrates, the plants absorb the nitrates, animals get nitrogen from eating plants, and when plants and animals die or excrete waste, decomposer release nitrogen gas back into the atmosphere.
Very useful information. I personally like how you set up your information with the numbers, it is easier for me to understand. I also like the picture you chose.
ReplyDeleteRedo with the correct requirements.
DeleteI like how there's a lot of information because there's more to read and learn from the post. The diagram is also really useful for me to understand the flow of nitrogen. The reflection is also really good.
ReplyDeleteRedo the portion on the reflection.
