Causes of Mutation Marco Lagos



  • One of the two reasons why our mutations occur, is because the DNA fails to be copied accurately. When the cell divides and the DNA copy isn't quite perfect.
  • Another reason is because external influences manage to come into the body and inflict mutations. When the body is exposed to to specific chemicals or radiation, and these substances break down the DNA. The body naturally repairs the DNA, but sometimes cannot do so much of a great job and the DNA isn't left the same.
