Mitochondria Adriana Guarino

Mitochondria:

  • What does the mitochondria do?
The mitochondria is known as the "powerhouse" of the cell because it provides energy for the cell.
The mitochondria has a folded structure inside of it that helps create more surface area in the cell called cristate. This is were the ribosomes are located.
The ribosomes help the mitochondria function.
The mitochondria brings energy to the body and without the mitochondria all the other cells would not have anything to run off of, causing them to die.
