Plant Cell vs. Animal Cell

Plant Cell:
-Contains a cell wall
-Has cytoplasm
-Eukaryotic
-Membrane-bound organelles
-Larger
-Rectangular
-One big central vacuole
-Has plastids

Animal Cell:
-Does not have a cell wall
-No cytoplasm
-Eukaryotic
-Membrane-bound organelles
-Smaller
-Round
-Multiple small vacuoles
-No plastids

Summary: I know most of the differences and similarities between animal and plant cells but, there were a few things I wasn't aware of. I did know that plant cells had one big central vacuole but I did not know that animal cells had one or more small vacuoles, I thought that animal cells didn't have vacuoles at all. I also did not know that plant cells contained plastids and that animal cells didn't. I didn't even remember what a plastid was. But I know now that plastids are small, colorless, double membraned organelles that either manufacture or store food. It is ironic how animal cells are smaller compared to plant cells considering animals are usually bigger than plants.

  1. Very organized but make sure you actually site your sources because some people will still count that as plagiarism.

  2. I like the way you divided up plant and animal cell information. I like the picture you gave that helps us identify the parts of these cells. I like the kahoot you included as well.

  3. I like the way it's all organized, the way the information is put together really helps understand the concept. The refection also helps me relate too the concept even more. Also did really well siting sources. -Marco Lagos
