Cell Wall Adriana Guarino

Cell wall: 
  a rigid layer of polysaccharides lying outside the plasma membrane of the cells of plants, fungi, and bacteria. In the algae and higher plants, it consists mainly of cellulose.
What does the Cell Wall do?
   The purpose of the cell wall is to protect the cell, It is the cell walls that give plant stems  and wood their stiffness.
